The process is characterized in that a final register correction to the printed image by turning the plate after one specimen print is effected such that, first of all, the data of the register deviation of a defined register point are established in circumferential and/or side and/or angular position. Subsequently, the necessary adjusting operations for the turning of the plate as well as for the correction of the circumferential and side registers are initiated, the adjusting commands in addition to the previously established data - taking account also of the position of the plate centre of rotation of the associated device.
