The air bag (3) restraint system is designed to protect a vehicle passenger in the event of a crash. It incorporates a tubular gas generator equipment (2) which is directly joined to a structural part of the vehicle by a support (4). The housing (1) is directly joined to the support via the gas generator. The gas generator may be made in two parts (5, 6), each of which has a separate support (4).
