Injection moulding process uses a machine with an electric motor (1) and transmission (6,7,8) for axial screw (11) movement. Process parameters are controlled by limiting the injection pressure and using a speed signal as the adjustable variable to initiate axial movement of the screw (11). A process variation is claimed in which the screw stroke is limited instead of the injection pressure axial screw movement again being activated by a speed signal. USE/ADVANTAGE - For controlling bath injection moulding machines and also die casting machines esp. for prodn. of precision, thin-walled products. Eliminates low frequency vibrations induced by the plastic and ensures higher reproducibility of parameters for mfr. of precision components.
