The connector (1) has a plastics sheathed housing with a base and a cover provided by respective half shells (3,4) with at least one opening for the sheathing material, containing an insert having peripherally spaced axial slots, locating the respective line wires. The insert comprises two spaced parts (8,9) i.e. on the side of the connection point and the incoming line respectively, the insulating sheath (6) of the multi-wire line enclosing the latter part. The space between the two parts coincides with an opening (13) in the connector half shells, each part having locating projections cooperating with the adjacent housing shell. ADVANTAGE - Max. water-tightness against longitudinal moisture ingress.
