Thin-walled, three-dimensional plastic product is produced by a process using either a film or strip which is heated and then placed over a male or female mould. A device for mfg. the product has a controlling system for a movable carrier (6) holding the film. The carrier (6) can be moved at right angles to the direction (D) in which the film is placed onto the tool. Pref., during heating the film is held along four sides, but during lay-down onto the tool only along the two sides which move simultaneously towards each other. USE/ADVANTAGE - Prodn. of three-dimensional, thin-walled plastic components. Gives a uniform wall thickness and is much cheaper than injection moulding.
