摘要 PURPOSE:To form a continuous ring mark without receiving any thermal interference by controlling the intensity of laser light for a prescribed period of time as required at the time of forming a ring type mark which different optical properties between the outer peripheral part of recording area and the inside by continuous irradiation with the laser light. CONSTITUTION:On the recording film 15 of an optical disk, the ring mark 13 which has the different optical properties in the length direction at the outer peripheral part of the recording area and in an inner radial direction corresponding to the temperature distribution of the laser irradiating area 19 irradiated with the laser light is formed. When a half-ring type mark 14 is formed by continuous irradiation with laser light, the laser light intensity of recording light pulses is made weak or reduce to 0 for the prescribed period of time and then the recording mark 14 can be formed without being affected by thermal interference and is increased in line-directional recording density while having a sufficient SN ratio; and high-density overwriting is enabled and recording is speeded up.
