PURPOSE: To provide a new device and method for parcel processing. CONSTITUTION: A parcel processing system adjusts shipping documents needed for many shipping carriers and/or various services. This system includes a keyboard 24, a scale 22, a memory, a printer 28, and a processor 20. The processor 20 receives a carrier/service select signal from the keyboard 24 and also receives transaction data from the keyboard 24 and/or scale 22. The processor 20 determines whether a parcel transaction is rated or deferred according to the carrier/service select signal. Data for the deferring transaction are stored in the memory. The said steps are carried out as to many transactions and many deferred transactions are put together. The processor receives a deferred rating signal from the keyboard 24 and performs rating operation as to the deferred transactions which are put together. The printer 28 prints a catalog showing the result of the rating operation. |
