<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal display device which hardly causes a problem of static electricity by short-circuiting plural electrodes on at least one substrate with a short-circuit member which has high resistance. CONSTITUTION:Two substrates 1 which have short-circuit members 9 made of low-insulation materials over the entire surfaces are stuck with seal materials 4 so as to be in contact with plural transparent electrodes 2 between plural electrodes 2 and substrates 1. Low-insulation materials or anisotropic conductive seal materials are usable as the seal materials 4. In this case, the transparent electrodes 2 on the two substrates 1 are mutually connected with high resistance. Therefore, oriented films 3 are rubbed, a charge distribution between nearby transparent electrodes is uniform and no electrostatic discharge is caused since the transparent electrodes 2 on the same substrate are short-circuited by the short-circuit member 9. Consequently, no problem of static electricity is caused without paying any special caution to the handling of the substrates 1 during not only the rubbing but also succeeding processes.</p> |
