The tool has a die axially insertable into the header, consisting of axially spaced support sections, interconnected by coupling sections. The support sections are offset w.r.t. the branches, limiting a punch penetration space. They abut the header wall, facing the punches over at least 180 deg. in the peripheral direction. The coupling sections limit the radial depth of the fluctuation space. The support sections completely cover the inside circumference of the tube and the die is divided in two in the axial direction along the length of the tube. USE/ADVANTAGE - For a coolant condenser. It has the facility for uniform, precise forming of rim holes.
