摘要 The method is applied to limit the speed of an IC engined (5) vehicle to a max. preset value under all conditions of operation or terrain by using separate controllers (1,2) and continuous measurement of actual speed. One controller (1) regulates the engine (5) output via the fuel input actuator (3,4) while the other (2) determines the retarder (7) operation via the actuator (6). The latter controller (2) determines the retarder (7) operation via the actuator (6). The controllers (1, 2) are electronically linked (8) and a preset max. speed (Vmax) established. Driver control is permitted throughout a speed range up to (Vmax) but on exceeding this threshold, e.g. on a downwards incline the engine (5) is reduced to idling and the retarder (7) automatically activated to achieve a constant speed (Vkonst) not exceeding (Vmax). USE/ADVANTAGE - Ensures limitation of speed under all conditions of driver operation or terrain. Does not require intervention of driver when on incline to maintain constant speed below permitted max.
