The machine has a cap (133) etc. gripper, cooperating with a bottle (95) holder (101) and an actuator (109). The latter induces the cap etc. removal by a relative movement between the gripper and holder. Pref. the gripper is mounted on a base body with an inner space for the cap. The gripper is so designed that, in active position, it reduces the inner width of the space to hold the cap etc. The gripper is typically activated by a control such that the removed cap etc. is released by the gripper at a presettable time instant, or in a preset position. USE/ADVANTAGE - For bottling plant, with any damage to the bottle neck openings.
