PURPOSE:To form a composite heat-sensitive recording medium of sufficient durability and resistance to environment by laminating successively a colored layer, an irreversible heat-sensitive recording layer, a reversible heat-sensitive layer and a heat-resistant protective layer on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A colored layer 2 is formed by printing and coating a coating material or the like directly on a substrate 1 of a plastic film or the like, and then an irreversible heat-sensitive recording layer 3 is formed on the colored layer 2 by a vacuum deposition method in which a simple metal material such as Sn or Te or alloy or the like is used. Then, liquid composed of a developer, a leuco dye or the like dissolved in water or an organic solvent together with a binder is applied for coating on the irreversible recording layer 3 and dried thereon to form a reversible heat-sensitive layer 4. A blend of heat-resistant resin, a lubricant, all sorts of fillers and the like is printed on the reversible heat-sensitive layer 4 by offset printing or the like and a heat-resistant protective layer 5 is laminated thereon to form a heat-sensitive recording material. Also a heat-sensitive sensitizing layer of thermoplastic resin can be formed between the colored layer 2 and the irreversible heat-sensitive recording layer 3. |
