The slab (19) is clamped between two relatively movable jaws (17,18) at its part section (20). Then it is bent by a folding plunger (24), movable transverse to the slab plane, of the section protruding from the clamping region (68). The bending takes place along the clamping boundary line (67). Then, after release of the clamping, the bent part is compressed by a folding mechanism (27) against the previously clamped slab portion until complete abutment. Pref. the slab is bent over a bending curve, approx. extending the slab centre line (66). USE/ADVANTAGE - For disposal of waste slabs from prefab. buildings. Has rapid work rate and reduced dust generation.
