<p>In a paging receiver capable of receiving and displaying a message on a display section, a receivable message format is predetermined not to receive an unnecessary message. The receivable message format is memorized as a predetermined message format in and read out of a random access memory when a reception format of a message is compared with the predetermined message format after coincidence between a reception call number and a preassigned call number assigned to the paging receiver.
