PURPOSE:To facilitate the manufacture, and prevent the generation of welding failure of a high pressure vapor electric discharge lamp, in which a pyroelectric current bypassing resistance for bypassing the pyroelectric current on the basis of the polarizing/depolarizing work of the FEC at the time of lighting/delighting a lamp is provided in parallel with an FEC forming a starter, by forming the structure of a high pressure vapor electric discharge lamp into the simple mount structure. CONSTITUTION:A heat-reaction switch 3 and an FEC 2 are connected in series, and a pyroelectric current bypassing resistance 11 is provided integrally with a part of the surface of the FEC 2 and connected in parallel with the FEC 2 to form a starter. This starter is connected in parallel with a light emitting tube 1 and housed inside of an external bulb 4 to form a high pressure sodium lamp 5. |
