PURPOSE:To provide an electroluminescence light source having high efficiency and a long life. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 2a, 2b are laminated on both the faces in the thickness direction of an electroluminescence layer 1. The electroluminescence layer 1 is buried with a luminescent material 1b radiating ultraviolet rays via the electric field between the electrodes 2a, 2b in a luminescent base 1a made of porous p-type silicon. When AC voltage is applied to the electrodes 2a, 2b, the luminescent material 1b radiates ultraviolet rays, and the visible light is generated when ultraviolet rays excite the luminescent base 1b. |
