PURPOSE:To provide the character input device which eliminate the trouble of mode switching for picture and image conversion by converting a character string that a user inputs into a picture and an image. CONSTITUTION:This character input device has an input means 902 which accepts the input of a character string consisting of one or >=2 characters, a picture character dictionary 906 which contains character strings and picture characters consisting of image information or symbols corresponding to the character strings, an analyzing means which takes a morpheme analysis of the character string accepted by the input means 902 and outputs the analytic result, a picture character converting means 905 which detects a character string that the analytic result of the analyzing means matches among the character strings stored in the picture character dictionary 906 and extracts a picture character corresponding to the detected character string, and a display means 915 which displays the picture character extracted by the picture character converting means 905. |
