PURPOSE:To provide an image pickup device with which a user can also pickup an image of himself while confirming its video display without putting the eyes close to the viewfinder of the image pickup device and furthermore which can be instantaneously used in a portable form of the device. CONSTITUTION:A separate part 15 includes an image pickup element 31 and is provided on a telephone set main body 11 in an attachable/detachable manner. A separate switch 35 detects whether the part 15 is attached to the main body 11 or not. When the part 15 is attached to the main body 11, the image obtained from the element 31 is displayed on a display part 28 of the body 11 in a right- left inverted mirror image in response to the signal received from the switch 35. Meanwhile the image obtained from the element 31 is displayed at the part 28 in a erect image when the part 15 is not attached to the main body 11 respectively. |
