PURPOSE:To dispense with a storing space for moldings, shorten the interval between processes, and reduce manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION:A granular beta-alumina starting material A is put in the cavity of a molding equipment 10 and closed. The molding equipment 10 is submerged in the water of a pressure vessel 1, pressurized water is press-fitted thereto by a high pressure pump 9, and a determined pressure is held to perform pressure molding. Thereafter, the surface of a molding is cut by a centerless grinding machine. At this time, the cutting is conducted in expectation of the quantity expanded and deformed with the lapse of time for the time to baking, and the waiting time up to baking is eliminated. The molding is baked, whereby a bottomed cylindrical beta-alumina tube is manufactured. |
