PURPOSE:To enable the easy recovery of only the glass components in a short period of time while a glass plate is held mounted to the body of a vehicle or building by generating cracks on the surface of the glass plate, while reducing the pressure in the chamber of a suction box, then capturing and collecting the splinters of the broken glass into the suction box. CONSTITUTION:The suction box 2 having a gasket 4 for hermetic closing on the outer periphery of an opening edge 22 is pressed to the glass plate surface on the inner peripheral side of the peripheral edge 11 of the glass plate 1 in such a manner that the gasket 4 is pressed to hermetically close the inside of the chamber 21 of the suction box 2 by adjusting the opening edge 22 to a prescribed size. The pressure in the chamber 21 is dropped by a suction pressure reducing device 3. Impact is then applied to the surface of the glass plate 1 from the opposite side of the suction box 2 to break the glass plate 1 to the glass splinters. These glass splinters are captured into the chamber 21 of the suction box 2. The glass plate 1 exclusive of the peripheral edge 11 is thus recovered. |
