<p>An airport runway has a recessed portion 6 provided in a predetermined region 5 of its surface in which a plurality of prefabricated plates 7 is placed. The plates are flush with the surface 2 of the runway 1 and their corresponding edges are superposed and fixed to each other with nuts and bolts. The plates are also fixed to the surrounding runway. The arrangement makes it easy to remove rubber deposited on the surface of the runway by aircraft wheels. <IMAGE></p> |
