PURPOSE:To provide a support film type solid electrolyte fuel cell having a gas supplying means of internal manifold type which can be layered easily, does not require any sealing material for prevention of gas leak, presents a large strength, and can send the fuel gas and the air in both forms of parallel stream and counter-stream. CONSTITUTION:A support film type flat plate unit cell 3 formed by coating one surface of an air electrode 6 plate with a thin film 5 of solid electrolyte whereover a fuel electrode 4 is arranged, and a separator 1 for series connection of adjoining unit cells 3 electrically with each other and to distribute the gas to the unit cells are laid one over another. The separator is equipped at one surface with a fuel gas flow path 1c on the fuel electrode side of the unit cell and equipped at the other surface with a recess 1e for fitting of the unit cell, and in this recess the unit cell is fitted while the air flow path 3c of the air electrode confronts the separator, and a metal mesh 2 is interposed between the fuel cell of the unit cell and the fuel gas flow path side of the separator. and spacer is interposed between the film periphery of the solid electrolyte of the unit cell and the separator. |
