The proposal is for a gear assembly for motor vehicles with a steplessly regulatable traction drive (14) and an associated reversing gear (6), especially a forward-reverse changeover planetary gear train, for motor vehicles with a front-mounted in-line engine and driven rear wheels. The engine drive shaft (1) is connected via a starting component (2), especially a hydraulic clutch or a hydrokinetic rotary moment converter (3), to an input shaft (5) which is connected to the input member of the reversing gear (6), whereby the traction drive (14) and a reduction gear (15) are fitted after the reversing gear (6). The starting component (2) and the reversing gear (6) on the one hand and the steplessly regulatable traction drive (14) and the reduction gear (15) on the other are each fitted in a common casing (10, 16), with each casing spatially separated from the other. |
