[Also in Division B6] A sheet of PVC is formed into a sleeve by inserting two opposite edges into elongated U-section retaining-members welding the edges to one of the sides of the retaining-members and bending the sheet into cylindrical shape so that the free edges met and are welded together. The retaining-members may be applied after the bending, and may be formed as annular mouldings, or the retaining-members may be integral with the sheet. The sleeve is applied to the cylindical metal casing of a suction cleaner, the retaining-members being pulled over the ends of the casing so that the latter extend into the former.</p> |
