A coagulant-flocculant with clarifying activity, consisting of manganese, silicate and alkaline compounds, where its manganese compound, containing permanganate and/or manganous salt, is at a highest total concentration of 4.5 % by weight to the alkaline compound, whereas the silicate anions of its silicate compound are with cations of alkaline soils and/or cations of p-, d- transition elements of the alkaline component in a molar ratio of 2.8 : 1 to 1 : 2.1.
