The method for converting an open channel section roadway drainage channel to covered and slotted one consists of removing slabs or grills from its top and placing inflatable tubular shuttering (16) in the bottom of the existing channel. Concrete cover slabs are then poured in two parts (4a,4b) on top, flush with the finished road surface level using sliding shuttering comprising a concrete hopper (2), casting skirt (3), jack (9) for inserting precast concrete wedges (8) in the slot, a hopper (10) for wedges, guide (11) and control box (12). When the concrete strength is adequate the shuttering is deflated and removed. USE/ADVANTAGES - Simple method, easy and quick to use.
