<p>PURPOSE:To prevent picture quality from being degraded even in the case of rounding data. CONSTITUTION:A data round processing circuit 10 to round the digital data of 10 bits into 8 bits is provided with a pattern generation circuit 22 to generate four fixed patterns PTN0-PTN3 at least so as to fix them with one bit circulated for two samples at least. Among these fixed patterns, one kind of the fixed pattern is selected by the size of two-bit data (c) to be rounded, and added to high-order 8-bit digital data (b) of input digital data and therefore, digital data (e) rounded into 8 bits are outputted. The picture quality is improved by using the fixed patterns at the time of round processing, and the generation of any peculiar longitudinal stripe pattern is also suppressed by changing the order of one bit in the fixed pattern.</p> |
