The self-propelled construction machine has a wheel or track mounted rotating body (20) supporting a boom (30) and bucket (50). The driver's cab (40) is fixed on the boom with a swivelling connection (41) and cab self-levelling device (42) which compensates for the angle of the boom with the horizontal. The boom is telescopic with the cab mounted on the lower section (31) free end. The free end (36) of the upper section (32) of the boom is fitted with a connection (37) for a forward or back-acting bucket.
