PURPOSE:To reduce light transmittance by removing or remodeling a part of a substrate or a polarizing plate with a regular light transmission defective part. CONSTITUTION:In a liquid crystal display device provided with two sheets of substrates 1, 8, electrodes 5 opposing to each other formed on the inner surfaces of two sheets of sustrates 1, 8, an oriented film provided on the opposing electrodes 5, a liquid crystal 11 held with the oriented film therebetween and deflection plates 3, 12 stuck on the outer surface of two sheets of substrates 1, 8, and making a regular light transmission dot defect on a liquid crystal pannel consisting of plural dots be a regular light limiting defect, the polarizing plate 3 or the substrate 1 is surface roughened or worked to be colored, and light transmittance in a regular transmission dot defect part in the liquid crystal display pannel is reduced. That is, in such a case, the surface of the polarizing plate 3 with a hatched line part is worked to a roughened surface 13 with a file, etc. The roughened surface 13 through which a beam transmits is constant regardless of a signal on a drain, and is formed on the surface of the polarizing plate 3 above the large pixel electrode. Then, the beam transmitting through the pixel electrode is scattered by the roughened surface, and transmittance is reduced. |
