<p>PURPOSE: To miniaturize a device for packing a foam in a bag to form a cushion and thereby enable an operation to form a foam-filled bag to be performed efficiently and at a comparatively higher speed. CONSTITUTION: A plastic film 30 formed into a double web by folding the film in the center advances and a foamable composition is injected into the web by an injection nozzle 34. The open edge of the web material is sealed in the longer direction by a sealing wire, and also is sealed in the transverse direction by a splitting wire 46 to form a bag filled with the foamable composition and at the same time, this bag is cut off from a following web material. In addition, an end seal opening is formed by interrupting the sealing operation periodically in the longer direction, and evacuates a gas so that no abnormal pressure is generated in the bag when the foamable composition foams. The interruption of the sealing operation is carried out by reducing current to the wire instead of separating the sealing wire from a plastic material.</p> |
