PURPOSE: To obtain a method and system for confirming a user by means of a distributed computer system without necessitating special hardware. CONSTITUTION: This system is provided with a user computer 11 communicating with remote computers 13, using a secret transferring layer protocol between computers in the distributed computer system and provided with a communication program including a multiplex log on means 16 with a file including a user-IDS-ciphered password, the remote computers with user ID and the file including the user-IDS-ciphered password and a connection network 20. Then a user's service request is processed the multiplex log on means 16, the means 16 accesses to a file including a user identification code and the ciphered password to decipher the ciphered password in the remote computers 13 to transfer the ID and the deciphered password to the remote computer to log on.
