PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus capable of economically and certainly performing the removal of organisms such as a shellfishes of Balanidal, Mytilus edulis Linne or the like bonded to the inner surface of the intake pipe of a steam power plant and the prevention of the adhesion of organisms without exerting adverse effect on environment. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus for preventing the fouling of the inner surface of a pipe A with organisms consists of a truck 1 having wheels 4 coming into contact with the inner surface of the pipe A, the propeller 2 attached to the truck 1 and having a brush 5 coming into contact with the inner surface of the pipe provided to the leading end thereof, the rope taking-up drum 7 provided on the upstream side of the pipe A and the rope 8 fixed to the drum 7 at one end thereof and fixed to the rear end part of the truck 1 at the other end thereof. The truck 1 runs through the pipe from the upstream end thereof to the downstream end thereof by the flow of seawater and runs through the pipe from the downstream end thereof to the upstream end thereof by the taking-up of the rope 8 due to the drum 7 and, during this period, the inner surface of the pipe is rubbed with the brush 5 and the organisms bonded to the inner surface of the pipe are removed by the increase of the flow velocity of seawater at the part of the inner surface of the pipe to prevent the fouling with organisms. |
