A bearing assembly which is particularly narrow in the axial direction is sealed in a lubricant-tight manner by two ring elements (27, 29) which are sealingly connected to one another radially beyond the bearing and rest with inherent elasticity under bias on the lateral faces of the bearing. The said connection may comprise a sealing ring (59), or the elements may be welded together.
