PURPOSE: To resolve many conventional problems related to addressing, production technique, and design due to considerable extension of a track of a column while keeping excellent merits of color reproducing with respect to triangular arrangement of filter pixels of three colors of red, green, and blue used in a color image pickup CCD or a color liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION: Each of red, green, and blue color filter pixels consists of two subpixels; and when subpixels of respective colors are denoted as A, B, and C, color filters in a row (n) are arranged in the order of A, A, B, B, C, and C, and those in a row n+1 are arranged in the order of C, C, A, A, B, and B. They are so arranged that they are shifted by one subpixel in terminals of rows. Consequently, each column consists of two parallel column elements mutually connected in the terminal, and a color filter matrix of triangular arrangement where each two adjacent subpixels are connected to different column elements is constituted. |
