LUBRICANT FOR POLYURETHANE FIBER

PURPOSE:To provide the lubricant containing a mineral lubricant and/or a straight chain polyorganosiloxane and a specified straight-chain modified silicone and capable of preventing hang-up or cob-webbing of polyurethane cheese yarns and of stabilizing operation. CONSTITUTION:This lubricant for a polyurethane fiber, capable of preventing hang-up of polyurethane cheese yarns and of stabilizing the shape of the cheese is obtained by blending a mineral oil (5 to 20cSt viscosity at 30 deg.C) and/or a straight chain polyorganosiloxane (preferable example; dimethylorganosiloxane exhibiting 5 to 20cSt at 30 deg.C) with 1.0 to 10.0wt.% (based on the weight of the whole lubricant) straight-chain modified silicone represented by the formula [R is a 1 to 6C saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon; m is 1 to 50; n is 5 to 20; (a) and (b: are each 0 to 20 provided that a+b=0 and that a/b=1/2 to 2/1], exhibiting 5000 to 20000cSt viscosity at 25 deg.C and excellent in compatibility with both the above-mentioned lubricants. If this lubricant is applied between spinning and winding, unwinding properties can be improved. Cob-webbing can also be prevented and, therefore, the workability can be stabilized.
