PURPOSE:To enable the data transmission suitable for capability by extending the picture data by discriminating the state of the picture data on the reception side of the picture data. CONSTITUTION:When both picture data processors 1 and 2 have high processing capability, a 1st selection section selects the compression of the picture data in a data processor 1 on the transmission side of the picture data. A state direction data generation section generates state indication data corresponding to the compression of picture data. Then, a picture data compression section reads out the picture data from a picture data holding section to perform the prescribed compression processing. In a data processor 2 on the side of receiving the picture data, a discrimination section discriminates the received state indication data to be the data corresponding to the compression of the picture data and a multiplexer supplies the received picture data to a picture data extension section. Then, the original picture data restored by the picture data extension section are supplied to the picture data holding section. |
