Electric motor operating and monitoring circuit for underground mining equipment - uses amplitude shifting keying data to modulate energy supply line with motor control data

The operating and monitoring circuit is used for at least one reversible AC motor (1a...1i) with two 3-phase stator windings controlled via integrated thyristors. The motors are connected to an energy supply line (4) coupled to the AC supply via at least one electromagnetic switch (3). A control unit (6) provides motor control signals converted via an amplitude shift keying data coupler (8) for modulation of the energy supply line. Each electric motor has a corresponding amplitude shift keying data coupler and a bidirectional control cooperating indirectly with the control unit. ADVANTAGE - Eliminates need for separate motor control lines.
