PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by installing a control rod in series with a needle and by furnishing a piezo element to generate a control oil pressure which gives the rod a force in the direction of valve closing with the needle. CONSTITUTION:A control rod 26, a pressurizing pin 27 and a needle 28 are in series arranged in a fuel injection valve 8 in such a way as slidable. A piezo element 40 is furnished to generate a control oil pressure for giving the rod 26 a force in the direction of valve closing with the needle. If the fuel pressure does not directly act on the piezo element 40 and the control oil pressure applied to the control rod is raised, a little, the needle makes valve closing to permit use of a small-sized piezo element. This will lead to reduction of power consumption. |
