PURPOSE:To provide the method for producing an aseptic packaged rice ball capable of being taken immediately after heating in an electronic oven for several minutes and in boiling water for ten and several minutes without requirement for a rice cooker. CONSTITUTION:This invention is a method for producing an aseptic packaged rice ball, carried out as mentioned below; A rice-cooking package 2 having an opening part 1 on the upper part and excellent in shape retention is formed by using a material durable to rice cooking and one or plural depression parts 2' having a desired rice ball shape are formed therein. Rice 3 subjected to water immersion treatment and to water draining treatment and, as necessary, water 4 in an amount corresponding to the rice are accommodated in the depression parts 2' and the package is charge in a rice cooker 5 for the purpose of rice cooking. The package is discharged from the rice cooker 5 and directly transferred into a tightly sealed chamber 7 without transferring the cooked rice 6 into a special package for selling. An aseptic gas such as nitrogen gas, carbonic acid gas or a mixture thereof is introduced in the rice-cooking package 2 so as to substitute for air in the rice-cooking package 2 and the opening part 1 of the rice-cooking package 2 filled with the aseptic gas is tightly sealed in the tightly sealed chamber 7. |
