The telescopic operating ram (11) on the slide carriage (6) has at least one swivel-up entrainment member (12) such as a double-acting pawl for force-locking and/or positive coupling of a rolling pallet (3) after moving partially underneath same. The mechanical couplings (10) of the individual pallets (3) have engagement elements lying in the horizontal plane. These are coupled and uncoupled by a control (15) which offsets the slide carriage in the direction of the shelf gangway by the extent of the coupling. Each rolling pallet has at the end in its centre axis a coupling with at least one engagement pawl and a corresponding engagement recess.
