The plate (6) can be attached to the coupling (2) or the abutment using a retaining piece (5) with two flanges (5') and a U-shaped middle section (5''). A bolt (12) passes through the flanges, and elastic buffers (8) ensure a positive and flexible fit. The lug type retainer is formed of an extension (7) which lies positively against wall of the coupling jaw. The buffers lie between the extension and the jaws. USE/ADVANTAGE - For symbols or letters on a goods vehicle with front and/or rear towing and trailer coupling points, or with front and/or rear abutments for such points. Simple attachment system especially suitable for fixing advertising signs.
