PURPOSE:To cope immediately with a setup change in an electronic part mounting operation, to hold the data of parts housed in a part feed unit, and to carry out a mounting operation in a labor-saving manner without making errors by a method wherein the installation equipment is made to operate basing on the data of substrates and electronic parts. CONSTITUTION:A mounting section 7 equipped with a mounting table 71 where tape feed mechanisms 11 are arranged and a mounting device 72 which mounts electronic parts on a board 9 is provided. A housing section 2 where the tape feed mechanisms 11 mountable on the mounting section 7 are previously set and a transfer section 3 which moves the tape feed mechanisms 11 that is made to reciprocate between the mounting table 71 of the mounting section 7 and the housing section 2 by sliding are provided. A control section 4 which controls the operation of the above component assemblies, carrier heads 61a and 61b which are function as read/write means to read and write the data of the data carrier of the tape feed mechanism 11 and arranged near the housing section 2 and on the transfer section 3 respectively, and an instruction device 8 which gives data for arranging the tape feed mechanisms 11 on the mounting table 71 are provided. |
