<p>PURPOSE:To make jam release efficient, etc., utilizing a recording sheet jam detection function effectively by returning the recording sheet by a specified amount when the jam of the recording sheet is judged to be produced and, after the release of the jam is detected, feeding the recording sheet again by a specified amount, and continuing the recording operation successively. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 27 interrupts recording operation when a recording sheet is detected by a recording sheet jam detector 10 during recording operation, and rotates a platen roller 4 reversely to return the recording sheet by a specified length within a range where it is not returned beyond the platen position. Then it is detected by the recording sheet jam detector 10 whether the recording sheet jam is removed or not. When the recording sheet jam is removed, the recording sheet is fed by an amount corresponding to the amount of return and, after that, the recording operation from the interruption is continued successively. Also, when the recording sheet jam is not removed, an alarm is given and, thereafter, the recording operation is not performed until the recording jam is removed and the received information is stored in a memory circuit 28.</p> |
