The servo drive has a floating cylinder (3) inside the servo housing and with ring seals (15, 16) at each end to locate over the profiled noses (5, 6) each side of the pneumatic piston (4). The piston is rigidly attached to the piston rod (7) which transmits the drive force. The profiled noses have bypass ducts (8, 9) to control the damping action at each end of the servo drive. The profiled noses are replaceable by noses of different flow rates to set different damping rates. The length of the damping movement is related to the length of the noses. The ends of the noses are tapered. The pneumatic flow is regulated by solenoid valves. USE/ADVANTAGE - Pneumatic drives for vehicle doors. Controlled end-stop action, simple to adjust.
