The support foot is located in a recess of a holding strip (5) and has a plate (7) abutting the car roof. The support foot is secured to the car roof by fasteners (13,17,19), coacting with the holding strip. The plate configuration covers the recess and matches the car roof contour. The fasteners are fitted to the plate underside, and contain a handling member (17), extending to the plate top side through an aperture. Pref. the plate and fasteners serve to secure a top region (8) of the support foot, which retains the luggage rack.
