The securing device is designed to fix and hold a hollow profile section to the internal face of an automobile door, in order to act as a strengthening member. It takes the form of an essentially flat plate (1), with an offset tongue (2), which is sized to correspond to the cross section width (6) of the hollow section (7). The tongue has two preformed welding points (4 and 4'), which are located to enable the hollow section to be welded to the plate. The plate also has two further preformed welding points (8 and 8'), which are used to weld the securing plate to the body panel of the vehicle door. USE/ADVANTAGE - It provides a simple low cost fixing to give a secure anchor for strengthening tubes.
