The riddle is capable of reciprocating its motion across a frame by travelling along two parallel slideways (7) when actuated by forks (17) on a shaft (14) engaging with pivots (15) on the riddle. The shaft is turned by a handle (16), and the slideways are L-section bars with horizontal (8) and vertical (9) sides. The riddle is parallelepiped with a width corresponding to the distance between the slideways and a length less than that of the slideways.
