PURPOSE:To announce the erroneous recognition of mode change-over so as to prevent the destruction of setting data owing to a malfunction by announcing an error at the time of detecting no-paper when the change-over is performed to the setting mode. CONSTITUTION:When change-over is performed from a register mode to the setting mode, CPU 11 fetches the detection result of a paper detecting sensor 16, checks presence of paper setting, fields paper to a printing position when it is set so as to hold it and makes preparation for succeeding printing. Then, in the setting mode, CPU 11 checks presence of paper setting from the detection result of the paper detecting sensor 16 when data is inputted from a key input part 13. In result, when data is inputted without paper setting in the setting mode, it is recognized that data is inputted by a malfunction, an error announcing part 18 is driven and error announcement is performed by buzzar sound, etc. When paper is set, the setting mode is recognized to be effective and prescribed setting is processed. |
