1,093,001. Traversing mechanism. H. MORLINGS MEKANISKA VERKSTAD A.B. March 31, 1965 [April 6, 1964], No. 13574/65. Headings DID and D1J. A guide 18 for traversing wires, ropes, cords or strands onto a bobbin or drum is mounted on a support 17 having therein a shaft 22 which is reciprocated, through a small distance compared with the axial length of the bobbin, in dependence on the rotation of the bobbin, the guide being intermittently traversed in one direction when a member 37 is in a position in which it grips the shaft 22 when the shaft moves in this direction and allows the shaft to slide with respect to it when the shaft moves in the opposite direction, the guide being similarly traversed in the opposite direction when member 37 is held in the two positions by a spring being moved from one position to the other at the end of each traverse of guide 14-for example by the resilient portions 43, 44 of rod 41 contacting adjustable stops 19, 20. Member 37 is held in the two positions by a spring 39 or by magnetic means. Shaft 22 may be reciprocated by hydraulic means, or, through a crank shaft arrangement, by a shaft which through a friction clutch drives the bobbin. The crank shaft may be adjustable to vary the speed ratio between the bobbin and shaft 22. |
