PURPOSE:To correct the deterioration of an image forming means and to obtain the copied image of a proper image density, according to the preference of a user by feeding back the control information of the image forming means in a manual density control mode, to an automatic density control mode. CONSTITUTION:An image exposure to a photosensitive body is executed by the scan of an optical scanning part, and simultaneously, the density of an original is detected by an EE sensor 21 composed of a photodetector. The deviation of the original density detected at this time, from a set value by a selection in the density in a manual mode, is calculated in a CPU 60, and the number of copying times by a deviation value and the total number of copies, are tentatively stored in a nonvolatile RAM 68. Then, it is judged whether the total number of the copies reaches a prescribed number, or not. When the total number of the copies reaches the prescribed number, the frequency distribution of the deviation in the density is made. Then, the average value of the deviation in the density is calculated, and for instance, the control data of an exposing lamp voltage is rewritten, based on the calculated average value, and a setting condition in a standard density, is moved in a direction so as not to require the manual mode. |
